Scott represents and counsels financial institutions, small to mid-sized corporations, and individuals in a broad range of civil litigation matters. He focuses his practice on cases involving business torts, fraud, contracts, commercial mortgage foreclosures, employment, and real estate. In representing his clients, Scott leverages his courtroom skills, business acumen, and advanced knowledge of technology to effectively and efficiently achieve his clients’ goals.
Prior to joining Fuchs & Roselli, Ltd, Scott amassed significant experience through his work as an Assistant State’s Attorney for the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office. In this capacity, Scott drafted and filed dozens of briefs before the First District Appellate Court of Illinois, several Petitions for Leave to Appeal before the Illinois Supreme Court, and argued twice before the First District Appellate Court. In his prior position, Scott conducted hundreds of bench trials, motions, and related hearings, and brought ten jury trials to verdict. Scott also obtained significant civil litigation experience while defending Cook County employees from civil complaints brought in federal and state court.
Mr. Nehls graduated magna cum laude from Washington University in Saint Louis in 2003 with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Political Science. He attended law school at DePaul University College of Law and graduated in 2006.
Mr. Nehls is licensed to practice in Illinois, and is an active member of both the Chicago and Illinois State Bar Associations. He currently serves as a member of the Chicago Bar Association’s Judicial Evaluation Committee.
Mr. Nehls resides in Evanston with his wife and three children.
