Scott M. Badami advises companies, private institutions and individuals in commercial and administrative litigation. A partner in the firm’s Litigation Department, Scott has extensive experience representing clients in state and federal court — at trial and in appellate matters — as well as in arbitrations, mediations and agency proceedings.
He frequently defends clients in regulatory and compliance matters, including cases before the Department of Justice, Department of Housing and Urban Development, Department of Defense, Federal Election Commission, Drug Enforcement Administration and Federal Trade Commission.
Scott also handles a variety of tort and contract matters for public companies, private institutions (including universities) and school districts.
Additionally, he counsels clients on compliance with various federal and state laws, including the Fair Housing Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, federal election and campaign finance laws, Freedom of Information Act, Drug Enforcement Administration manufacturing and import registration proceedings and Department of Defense security clearance proceedings.
Prior to joining Fox Rothschild in 2008, Scott was with Bryan Cave LLP in Washington, DC, for more than 17 years. While in Washington, he also served as legislative director and press secretary to U.S. Representative Ike Skelton.
Scott is a member of the Board of Trustees of Germantown Academy as well as a member of the Germantown Academy Governance and Finance Committees. He has served on the Board of Governors at Sunnybrook Golf Club for the past seven years and is currently the club’s first Vice President.
