Scott Jeffrey Allen is an attorney having over 23 years of experience in practice areas such as Personal Injury and Special Education law. He is the founder of Allen Law Firm having offices in Monterey city and Santa Cruz city in California.

He has a rich experience of litigating and trying cases in both state and federal courts and has also helped numerous clients resolve disputes through alternative dispute resolution mechanisms like arbitration and mediation.

He aggressively represents his clients’ interests while providing personal attention to them, and also offers practical advice on achieving a cost-effective resolution of their disputes and protecting their rights. His practice areas also include employment litigation in wrongful termination cases and intellectual property.

In his special education law practice, he protects the educational rights of children with disabilities to receive the benefits of a free and appropriate public education. He represents students & parents and ensures that school districts provide assessments and determine student eligibility to receive special education support.

He counsels and provides advice to parents and students to prepare for IEP meetings to discuss 504 plans. In cases where the parents and school district cannot agree, he provides legal counsel to parents regarding due process complaints, dispute resolution sessions, and also due process hearings, if necessary.

He also provides counsel in cases of school discipline involving students with disabilities such as manifestation hearings, and expulsion processes.

He is an active member of the Consumer Attorneys of California and the State Bar of California. He has served as the Chair as well as Vice Chair of the Standing Committee of the Business Law Section of the State Bar of California, and the Chairman of the Agribusiness Standing Committee of the California State Bar.

Before founding the Allen Law Firm in 2014, he worked as a partner at the law firm LaRiviere, Grubman & Payne from 2008 to 2014. He served as an attorney with the law firms Cox & Moyer and Lombardo & Gilles during 1999 – 2008 and 1995 – 1999.

Scott Allen completed his Bachelor’s of Science and Master of Science in Agronomy from Cornell University in 1988 and 1990. He went on to join Boalt Hall School of Law at the University of California in Berkeley and obtained his Juris Doctorate in the year 1995.

He passed the bar exam and obtained the license to practice law in the state of California in the year 1995. He earned admission to the Northern, Southern and Eastern Districts Courts of California, and the Ninth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals.
