Scott Baker has been the principal attorney of Baker & Associates. His practice focuses on providing counseling and litigation services to national and regional enterprises, insurance companies and individuals in art and entertainment, business, construction, intellectual property, trade secret and insurance related matters.
He has been an effective advocate for his clients in trials, arbitrations, administrative hearings and appeals. He also represents clients in transactional matters such as negotiating and documenting business contracts, employment agreements and covenants not to compete.
Mr. Baker began his legal career in 1985 with the appointment to a Federal Judicial Clerkship for the Hon. Robert B. Krupansky of the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals. He then worked in the litigation departments of the business and entertainment firms of Weissmann, Wolff, Bergman, Coleman and Silverman, and Oberstein, Doniger and Fetter. He is admitted to practice law before all courts in California, Ohio and the District of Columbia.
Mr. Baker obtained his undergraduate degree with honors from The Ohio State University in Business Administration, and graduated from Case Western Reserve University School of Law, where he served on the Moot Court Executive Board.
He has devoted a significant amount of his time to pro bono activities as a volunteer arbitrator/mediator for the Los Angeles County Municipal and Superior Courts, Bet Tzedek Legal Services, and as a founding panel mediator for the U.S. District Court Mediation Program.
