Scott Brandman is a Partner based in the New York office of Baker McKenzie. He has been in practice over 25 years. Scott serves as Managing Partner of the New York office. He is also a member of the Firm’s Partner Compensation Committee and has served as Chair of the Firm’s North American Hiring Committee for over 10 years. He previously served on the Firm’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee.
Scott serves as the global relationship partner for several multinational companies, both public and privately-held, where he works closely with his clients’ senior management teams to ensure seamless service on all Firm representations.
Additionally, Scott regularly publishes articles in professional tax and legal publications and is well recognized for his speeches throughout the country on a variety of legal and tax topics.
Scott primarily focuses on tax matters, advising multinational companies on a full range of state and local tax issues. He has substantial experience representing multinationals on tax controversies before state administrative agencies and courts throughout the United States. He also advises clients on their state effective tax rate planning and financial reserve management.
Scott has taken lead roles on significant federal tax controversies and international tax controversy matters for his clients around the world. He has also led global restructurings on behalf of multinational clients involving corporate and tax lawyers from dozens of countries worldwide.
