
Scott P. Kramer pursued his bachelor’s degree at the University of Michigan where he graduated with highest honours and was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa national honour society. Scott then received his law degree from the University of Illinois College of Law.
During law school, Scott served as a Notes Editor for the University of Illinois Law Review and as a member of the National Frederick Green Moot Court team. Upon graduation, Scott received the Rickert Award for Excellence in Advocacy and was named a member of the Order of the Coif national honour society. Scott’s introduction to family law began as a law clerk for Schiller DuCanto & Fleck LLP.
Scott then continued his legal career practicing complex commercial litigation at Sidley Austin LLP, until 2010, when he joined Griffin McCarthy & Rice LLP. Scott now practices exclusively in the area of family law, where he has been selected by Super Lawyers Magazine as an Illinois Rising Star in 2014, 2015, and 2016. Scott has successfully represented clients across a diverse spectrum of family issues such as parenting time, asset allocation, custody, child support, and maintenance. In doing so, Scott offers his clients solutions both in and out of the courtroom.
When litigation is necessary, Scott’s trial and appellate court experience provide his clients with the advocacy necessary to move forward during an otherwise challenging time. In 2015, Scott successfully completed the National Family Law Institute’s rigorous Trial Advocacy Training Program.
