Seth Laver is a partner in Goldberg Segalla’s Philadelphia office, with a focus on defending professionals and employers across diverse fields and industries in professional liability, employment practices liability (EPL), and other types of employment-related litigation. Seth is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York, but regularly counsels and represents professionals and employers throughout the United States.
Seth represents attorneys, accountants, real estate and insurance professionals, and architects in professional liability matters. He counsels clients in risk management, day-to-day workplace issues, and other “pre-suit” matters with an eye toward avoiding litigation and minimizing risk.
When his clients do face disputes and claims, Seth leverages his extensive experience handling both individual and class action matters to custom-fit holistic legal strategies to each client’s immediate needs and long-term goals, and to resolve the litigation as quickly and cost-efficiently as possible.
Employers and executives in numerous industries also call on Seth to handle employment litigation and labor law matters, including sexual harassment, race, disability, and age discrimination; wrongful discharge; defamation; and other constitutional claims. He counsels employers on recognizing and preventing employment discrimination and other employee-related lawsuits, with an emphasis on the early implementation of proper procedures.
He drafts and updates employee handbooks and consults employers regarding compliance with company by-laws and human resources protocols. Seth is often engaged to counsel clients regarding enforcement of non-compete agreements, non-solicitation clauses, and other covenants affecting post-employment competition.
