
Shalimar Simon Wallis was born and raised in El Paso, Texas. She graduated from Texas Christian University with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and a Minor is Spanish. Shalimar attended South Texas College of Law Houston and earned her Juris Doctorate, with honors in 2001.
She participated in the nationally recognized South Texas College of Law Houston moot court program under the direction and instruction of Dean T. Gerald Treece.
During her time at South Texas, Shalimar attended several national moot court tournaments and finished her law school career undefeated in competitive moot court tournaments winning three of the school’s National Championships. She was also named on the Dean’s List and admitted to the National Order of Barristers while attending South Texas College of Law Houston.
Shalimar joined the predecessor firm of Watts Guerra LLP upon graduation from law school and has been a partner in the firm since 2003. She has dedicated her practice to representing individual personal injury and commercial plaintiffs against large corporations across the country.
Shalimar has extensive experience as a trial lawyer, with a heavy docket of product liability, trucking, industrial explosion, pipeline explosions, oil field injuries, and other catastrophic injury cases. She also carries an active commercial docket representing plaintiffs in a variety of disputes requiring litigation as a means of resolution.
Over the course of her career, she has represented hundreds of plaintiffs against large corporations such as Bell Helicopter, Ford Motor Company, Chrysler, General Motors, Firestone, Walmart, EOG Resources, and Toyota, among others.
Ms. Wallis is a frequent speaker for continuing legal education presentations on topics covering discovery, trucking litigation, and product liability cases. She also remains active in the San Antonio Trial Lawyers Association, having served as its President in 2012 – only the 4th woman in the organization’s nearly 50 year history.
She is a board member of Texas Trial Lawyers Association and a member of the founding steering committee of Texas Women Rainmakers.
When she is not practicing law, Shalimar enjoys spending time with her family. She is also very involved in the community and serves on boards of various non-profit organizations. Shalimar and her husband have two children.
