Shane N. Copelin practice focuses on corporate and capital markets matters. Mr. Copelin earned his J.D. cum laude from Tulane Law School, graduating in the top of his class and serving as the vice president of both the Tulane Entertainment & Art Law Society (TEALS) and Tulane’s chapter of the Black Law Students Association (BLSA). Mr. Copelin also served as the Job Fair Coordinator for the Southwest Region of the National Black Law Students Association (SWBLSA). During law school, Mr. Copelin clerked both for Chief Justice Nannette Jolivette Brown of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana and the in-house legal division of Entergy Corp. – an integrated energy company focused primarily on electric power production and retail distribution.
Mr. Copelin was also an active member of the Tulane Sports Law Society graduating with a specialty in sports law and interning for the legal team of the New Orleans Saints football team.
Prior to law school, Mr. Copelin ran track and field, and played football for Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA. Mr. Copelin was also a member of his college mock trial team, which participated in the Regional Competition, and worked at the Neighborhood Learning Alliance – a nonprofit community-based organization dedicated to improving the education and opportunities of African Americans and lower income families in the Pittsburgh area.
