Shannon Kos specializes in defending property owners, contractors, product manufacturers and suppliers in a variety of contexts including asbestos and other toxic torts, mold, and fire and explosion litigation and has tried cases in Michigan and other jurisdictions throughout the United States.
She is National Coordinating Counsel for a defendant in asbestos litigation. She provides personal representation and defense to expert witnesses throughout the country in challenges to expert fees, scope of work and retainer agreement disputes, discovery issues, and Daubert attacks.
In addition, Shannon is certified as a Fire and Explosion Investigator by the National Association of Fire Investigators and in Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) by OSHA, certifications held by only a handful of attorneys in the United States.
Shannon has published articles concerning fire and explosion litigation, the defense of personal injury claims in the construction context, and testing in product liability suits. She has also lectured on various topics including asbestos litigation and issues important to expert witnesses such as Daubert challenges.
