Sharisse R. Deal is an associate in the Labor and Employment Department of the Los Angeles office of Seyfarth Shaw LLP. Ms. Deal represents employers in a wide array of matters at the state and federal level, including wage and hour, misclassification, reimbursement, wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims.
Ms. Deal has extensive experience representing clients in both individual matters and in high-exposure class and collective actions and actions bought under the California Private Attorneys General Act. Ms. Deal has defended employers in a variety of industries, including retail, insurance, restaurant, financial, hospitality, and healthcare industries.
Ms. Deal’s litigation background includes second-chair trial experience, obtaining summary judgment for employers, and successfully opposing motions to certify class actions. Ms. Deal has also successfully negotiated settlements and dismissals of matters on behalf of employers.
In addition to her litigation practice, Ms. Deal counsels and trains employers on obligations under federal and California employment law, including developing best practices for employee policies, meal and rest breaks, and timekeeping procedures.
