Sharmi Rivera is a paralegal with the Hornsby Law Group assisting clients and the firm in a variety of civil litigation matters with a focus on personal injury, whistleblower, and other complex litigation cases.
Sharmi helps people who are victims of automobile accidents, medical malpractice, and who have experienced the wrongful death of a loved one. She also participates in a variety of other personal injury disputes and government qui tam actions.
Sharmi has a formidable and comprehensive background in litigation and trial practice and has helped secure numerous multi-million dollar recoveries for clients. Among them, Sharmi helped to win the largest verdict in Georgia civil trial litigation history.

Sharmi devotes significant time to community service projects and regularly participates in local organizations with a focus on improving and giving back to the community. Sharmi stays actively involved in many volunteer organizations, including Girl Scouts of America, Hands on Atlanta, Hosea Feed the Hungry and Habitat for Humanity.
She sits on the Board and the Oak Grove United Methodist Church Children’s Development Center and is an active member of the church there. When not working in the law field, Rivera enjoys spending time with her family and her very active children.
- Sharmi attended the University of West Georgia were she majored in psychology. She also attended the National Center for Paralegal Training in Atlanta where she earned her Paralegal Certificate.
