
Sharon L. Falen has dedicated her practice to family law. She serves as an Associate Attorney at the law firm, Sullivan Taylor & Gumina PC based in Naperville, Illinois. Her areas of practice include divorce, parentage, custody, visitation, child and spousal support, and domestic violence.
She obtained a Bachelor’s degree in English in 2012 from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. She graduated with honors. She earned Juris Doctorate from the Loyola University Chicago School of Law in 2015. She also obtained a Certificate in Child and Family Law.
While in law school, she was a part of the Executive Board of the Children’s Legal Rights Journal. She also worked in Loyola’s Child Law Clinic and represented youth in abuse and neglect cases, and served as guardian ad litem in contested divorce proceedings.
Sharon Falen obtained admission to the Illinois Bar in 2015 and has since acquired experience in domestic relations, special education law, probate, and juvenile court matters. In private practice, she has served as guardian ad litem in both probate and domestic relations proceedings at the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit Court.
She is an active member of the Illinois State Bar Association and DuPage Association of Women Lawyers. She has also acquired the membership of the Association of Women Lawyers of Lake County, where she serves as a chair of the Social Committee, and a member of the MCLE Seminar Committee.
Attorney Falen is the member of Young and New Lawyers Committee of the Lake County Bar Association, and the Juvenile Justice Council in Lake County. She was honored with Bergstrom Child Welfare Law Fellow by the University of Michigan Law School in 2014.
She has served as a Volunteer Attorney at the Lake County Minor Guardianship Help Desk. She has also served on the Prairie State Legal Services Borderless Pro Bono Project. She speaks both English and Spanish languages.
