Shireen Yvette Wetmore is an attorney in the San Francisco office of Seyfarth Shaw LLP. Ms. Wetmore’s practice is concentrated in the Labor & Employment department, where she focuses on employment litigation, including class actions and single-plaintiff cases, and arbitrations.
Ms. Wetmore has a special focus on Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) class actions and regularly participates in discovery, mediations, and motion practice, including legal research and writing, briefing, oral arguments and preparation of settlement agreements. She also handles administrative charges for diverse industries and employment counseling.
Ms. Wetmore is a member of the firm’s National Pro Bono Committee, and among her pro bono representations, successfully sought a grant of asylum for a teenage girl fleeing gang violence in her country of origin. During law school, Ms. Wetmore worked as a law clerk for the Department of Homeland Security Office of the Principal Legal Advisor, Human Rights Law Division. Ms. Wetmore has some proficiency in French and Spanish.
Prior to joining Seyfarth, Ms. Wetmore worked in-house as an attorney fellow at the George Washington University. While there she participated in union negotiations, including collective bargaining agreements, and wage reopeners. In addition to the labor relations work she did, Ms. Wetmore also contributed to a number of counseling solutions, including entity formation, the creation of employee handbooks, and international contracting and employment counseling.
