
Stephen B. Anastasia is an associate in the New York office of Locke Lord LLP with a diverse practice focused on general corporate and insurance regulatory and transaction law, as well as innovative technology transactions (InsurTech/FinTech).
In addition to advising clients on a broad range of insurance regulatory and compliance matters, Stephen provides support on innovative technologies, products, services and business models, including blockchain/DLT, cryptocurrency, AI/machine learning, IoT, telematics, sharing economy and autonomous vehicles.
Prior to joining the Firm, he was a member of the Innovation Legal Group at AIG where he drafted, analyzed, and negotiated pilot, SaaS, software license, professional services, support services, consulting and nondisclosure agreements, as well as advised on a number of insurance regulatory issues.
Stephen received his B.S. from the United States Military Academy at West Point and his J.D., from Fordham Law School where he served as Assistant Editor of the Journal of Corporate & Financial Law.
As a combat veteran and Captain in the United States Army, Stephen served as a Commander, Battalion S1 (Battalion Adjutant and Administration Officer), Assistant S3 (Training Officer), and Platoon Leader. During his service, Stephen was awarded the Bronze Star Medal and Army Commendation Medal for Meritorious Service over the course of two deployments in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
