Steven D. Altmann, a shareholder, practices in the firm’s Insolvency and Restructuring Group. He received his B.S. from the University of Alabama and received his J.D. from Cumberland School of Law. He is admitted to the Georgia State Bar, Alabama State Bar and the United States District Court for the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Alabama.
Mr. Altmann is a member of the Birmingham Bar Association (Bankruptcy and Commercial Law Section). He has been named a Super Lawyer in Alabama and recognized in the Birmingham Magazine by his peers as a 2018 Top Attorney in the area of Bankruptcy Law. Mr. Altmann is also AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell for his ethical standards and legal ability.
He is actively involved with Temple Beth-El Synagogue, the Birmingham Jewish Foundation and the Levite Jewish Community Center. A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Mr. Altmann enjoys softball, baseball, golf and movies. He and his wife, Melissa, have three children, Mallie, Ari and Josie.
