Steven J. Malm is counsel in the Immigration Department of Seyfarth Shaw LLP’s Los Angeles office. He handles a wide variety of business immigration matters, chief among them the sponsorship of workers for non-immigrant visas and permanent residence, and advising companies on immigration compliance generally.
Prior to joining, Mr. Malm gained extensive experience counseling large corporations on similar immigration law matters at other well-established immigration law firms. This experience also includes defending individuals against deportation before the Immigration Court, litigating cases before Federal district and circuit courts, complex naturalization proceedings, family-based immigration filings, and humanitarian and asylum work. He also worked as a criminal defense attorney upon graduation from law school, where in addition to honing litigation and trial lawyer skills he developed an expertise in the intersection of criminal and immigration law as pertains to admissibility and deportability.
