Based in San Diego, Pillsbury Intellectual Property Litigation partner Steven A. Moore is a registered patent lawyer with significant experience litigating complex IP cases. Steve combines legal skills, in-depth electrical engineering knowledge and 20+ years’ experience writing software to provide seasoned counsel to clients in the electronics field.
His experience includes complex aspects of wireless communications devices, including LTE, LTEA, CDMA, EVDO, WCDMA, HSPA, H+, 802.11 and Bluetooth; hardware, software and communication network architectures; electro-optic systems and devices; and biomedical optical instruments.
In addition to litigating cases in federal court, he has taken a lead role in several ITC Section 337 investigations.
REPRESENTATIVE EXPERIENCE :
- First-chaired the litigation team that represented ZTE companies in three ITC Section 337 investigations regarding electronic imaging devices, consumer electronics’ display and processing capabilities and wireless devices.
- Represented the ZTE companies in more than 25 patent infringement cases in jurisdictions throughout the country.
- Led the litigation team that defended the HTC companies in a case involving multirate signal processing in MP3 and AACv2 codes.
- Served as first chair litigation counsel representing the ZTE companies in the ITC Investigations 337-TA-850, 337-TA-884, and 337-TA-905.
- Represented complainant Select Comfort Corp. in ITC Investigation 337 – Docket Number 3091.
- Served as lead technical counsel representing Qualcomm Inc. in Parkervision v. Qualcomm, MDFL a case involving direct down conversion circuit architectures.
- Served as lead technical counsel representing the ZTE companies, the Kyocera companies, and Nokia in SPH v. Kyocera and SPH v. Acer et al., involving complex spreading in CDMA2000 and WCDMA.
- Served as lead technical counsel representing Pulse~LINK in three patent litigation matters adverse to TZero Technologies, CASD. Cases involved Ultra-Wideband communications technology (IEEE 802.15.3a).
- Served as lead technical counsel representing Masimo in Shaklee et al., v. Masimo, CACD, a case involving optical based diagnostic medical instruments.
