Sumair A. Khan is an associate in the Entertainment and Digital Media Practice Group in the firm’s Century City office. Mr. Khan’s practice focuses on advising clients on various transactional entertainment matters, including rights acquisitions, development, financing, production, licensing and distribution of motion pictures and scripted and unscripted television and digital media productions.
He works with studios, large production companies, independent producers, and digital content creators (including Amazon Studios, Sony Pictures, Lionsgate, Televisa, Campanario Entertainment, Barajoun Studios, Hemisphere Media Group, and Oculus) in all aspects related to the creation of motion pictures, television series, documentaries, serialized online content, and branded content.
Prior to joining Sheppard Mullin, Mr. Khan practiced as a business affairs executive at CAA, where he represented talent clients in broad entertainment and business opportunities, including branded content, licensing, endorsements, corporate sponsorships, comedy, and digital media.
Mr. Khan has also provided business consulting and content strategy to professional athletes looking to get involved in traditional and digital production, including a working with a number of NBA basketball players to establish production companies, financing, content distribution, and overall deals with major studios.
