Susan Metzger is an attorney at Laaksonen Law Offices, where she specializes in Family Law and Bankruptcy. Since 2005, she has developed a practice in family law throughout southwest Michigan, with an emphasis on all aspects of divorce and paternity, custody disputes, child support, parenting time, and spousal support. She has served as Guardian ad litem on many cases and mediated domestic relations matters for clients.
Susan received her cum laude law degree fromThomas M. Cooley Law School in May 2003. Susan is currently licensed to practice law in the State of Michigan, United States Federal and Bankruptcy Courts.
A native to Southwest Michigan, Susan is a graduate of Kalamazoo Christian High School. In 1999, she received her bachelor’s degree in political science from the College of Charleston, in South Carolina. She also participated in a semester of legal study at Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland. She served as a law clerk for the former Chief Judge Borrello of the Saginaw Circuit Court.
Active member of the State Bar of Michigan, Van Buren Bar Association (secretary/treasurer), Kalamazoo County Bar Association, volunteer at the Van Buren Wings of God transition home for previously incarcerated women.
