Tanya Ortega Rittger started her career in Chicago after earning a prestigious judicial clerkship with Supervising Judge Alexander P. White at the Circuit Court of Cook County. She then worked for a large Chicago insurance defense firm to defend Fortune 100 and 500 companies against personal injury claims. For years, she won cases for insurance companies and learned every strategy used to defeat the claims of injured individuals.
At Harris Personal Injury Lawyers, Tanya now uses her insight of the judiciary and insurance companies to gain a significant advantage for her clients. Her unique perspective of litigation and highly competitive spirit make Tanya a formidable opponent and advocate in the courtroom.
Tanya’s recent litigation accomplishments include the following jury verdicts and settlements: a jury verdict in the case of McCall v. Coast Line Distributing, Inc., et al. for $2.1 million; a settlement in Macari v. Salvucci and RBZ Vineyards, LLC dba Sextant Wines for $1 million and a settlement in Lockhart v. Swann for $600,000.
Tanya, along with her trial partner Ranger Wiens, received the honor of Harris Personal Injury Trial Lawyer of the Year Award in 2015 and 2016 for her extraordinary efforts and perseverance at trial. In 2016, she had one of the top 100 jury verdicts in California. She is also a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum.
Tanya is a lifelong runner and formerly competed on the University of Houston cross country and track teams as a middle-distance runner. When not at the office, Tanya enjoys yoga and traveling with her husband, kids and friends.
