Tara Ellis is an associate in the Labor & Employment department of Seyfarth Shaw LLP. She is a member of the firm’s Employment Litigation & Counseling and Workplace Counseling & Solutions groups. Ms. Ellis’ practice focuses on single-plaintiff employment litigation, and includes representing clients in federal and state court, before agencies, including the New York State Division of Human Rights, and in arbitral forums, including AAA, FINRA, and JAMS.
Ms. Ellis counsels clients in all areas of employment law, including Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, and the New York Wage Theft Prevention Act. Ms. Ellis also counsels clients on terminations and reductions in force, drafts employment contracts, severance agreements, and RIF paperwork.
Ms. Ellis’ practice also includes ERISA and FCRA litigation. Ms. Ellis actively participates in pro bono work. Her pro bono work has included counseling clients on employee terminations, anti-harassment training, internal investigations of sexual harassment allegations, and the drafting and revising of employee handbooks.
