Tawni Wilhelm’s practice involves counseling clients in all areas of intellectual property with an emphasis on procurement of domestic and foreign patent protection in the areas of biotechnology, medical device technology, pharmaceuticals, bioinformatics and computer and software arts. In this regard, she represents a variety of clients including Microsoft Corporation, Sprint and Cerner Innovation, Inc.
Tawni counsels clients with respect to developing short- and long-term patent procurement strategies, facilitating identification of technologies for patenting, conducting due diligence analyses of intellectual property portfolios in connection with potential mergers and acquisitions, and evaluating third-party IP portfolios for potential acquisition and licensing opportunities.
Additionally, Tawni’s practice involves reviewing client IP portfolios to identify monetization opportunities. She also conducts infringement and validity analyses for a variety of clients in diverse technology areas.
Tawni’s practice further includes handling all aspects of post-grant matters (challenging and defending), including ex parte reexamination,inter partes review, and other post issuance proceedings. Tawni has provided strategic direction in more than 40 such post-grant proceedings.
