Theresa Weaver-Barbers joined Tanner Law Offices as an Associate attorney boasting both Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as well as global experience. She graduated with a B.A. with High Honors from Bowdoin College in Maine with a major in German. She obtained her JD from Widener University Commonwealth Law School with Magna Cum Laude distinction. This achievement propelled Theresa into the top 10% of her graduating class.
She was the Managing Editor of the Widener Journal of Law, Economics, and Race as well as the Vice President of the Trial Advocacy Honor Society.
Her legal career began with a position at the Office of the Auditor General for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania whose office is responsible for acting as the chief fiscal watchdog for the state of Pennsylvania ensuring that all state money is spent legally and properly.
She also has experience working with the Office of Disciplinary Counsel for the State of Pennsylvania where the office manages the attorney discipline process based on client concerns.
Theresa was also awarded the designation of being a 2009 recipient of the Fulbright Teaching Assistantship as part of the Fulbright U.S. Student Program where she taught English and American Studies to students in Germany.
Some of the primary requirements for obtaining this Assistantship is the demonstration of high level of academic achievement as well as advanced German language proficiency. She is highly conversant in German and looks forward to welcoming both clients and potential clients in their native language.
