Thomas Froats has drafted over 400 original patent applications for a variety of clients ranging from large, international corporations to solo inventors. He has written applications for several different industries and technologies, including magnetic resonance imaging systems, graphical user interfaces, smart grid networks, and compliance software and testing, with a focus on payment systems and cryptographic transactions.
In addition to drafting applications, he also has significant experience in all phases of prosecution, including prosecuting several inventions from the application drafting process all the way through to issuance. Thomas excels at being an efficient and pragmatic advocate, returning work product that meets, and often exceeds, client expectations ahead of schedule and well within any client deadlines.
Even when the unforeseen arises, such as an outside meeting being scheduled on a new invention with only a single day’s notice, Thomas has been known to draft a complete patent application, work with inventors on reviewing the draft, and have it polished and filed before the meeting takes place. He brings this energy and efficiency to all matters he works on, with the goal of exceeding clients’ expectations on any matter that is sent his way.
