Thomas J. Eisweirth, an associate in Venable’s Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights Practice in the Baltimore office, focuses on debtor-creditor matters, commercial litigation, and bankruptcy proceedings.
Prior to joining Venable, Thomas clerked for the Honorable Thomas J. Catliota in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Maryland, where he researched complex legal issues, drafted memoranda of decision-resolving dispositive motions, and reviewed and analyzed pleadings.
During law school, Thomas worked as a summer associate at a national law firm, where he researched and drafted memoranda on complex litigation issues, including state and federal questions of contract, evidence, and antitrust. He also served as a law clerk for the in-house legal department of a national credit bureau.
Prior to practicing law, Thomas worked for more than 10 years in the financial services industry. During his time at a multinational investment bank and financial services company, he acted as a consultant and project manager, assisting retail and other commercial clients in upgrading to a secure session transfer encryption algorithm for payment processing.
He also worked as a project manager at a national credit card and financial services company, where he assisted in the operations migration of the third-largest private student loan portfolio.
