
Thomas M. Patton’s practice focuses on complex patent litigation involving a variety of technologies, including computer software, telecommunications, athletic apparel, life sciences and biotechnology, and GPS products and systems. As a trial team member, he deposes witnesses, drafts motions, coordinates discovery and assists with developing case strategies.
Thomas taps into his background in civil engineering to understand his clients’ technologies. While pursuing his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Iowa State University, he served as an intern at an engineering firm, working with an executive on project oversight, project closeout and preparations for arbitration.
Thomas also served as a teaching assistant in engineering courses, through which he wrote, taught and graded labs for undergraduate and graduate engineering courses.
