Thomas joined the firm in 2009. He has been a member of the Alaska Bar since 1998, and has wide-ranging experience in real estate, commercial transactions, and labor and employment law.

In his commercial and real estate practice, Thomas has assisted clients in a wide variety of business matters including the negotiation of executive employment agreements, non-compete and other restrictive covenants, commercial leases and land acquisitions, construction contracts, corporate formation and restructuring, and business sales and acquisitions.

He has represented clients in court and arbitration proceedings involving service contracts, construction, landlord-tenant, and other commercial disputes.

Thomas has represented clients in litigation matters in federal district court and at every level of the Alaska court system. In the areas of labor and employment law, he has defended public and private sector employers in labor arbitrations, unfair labor practice charge proceedings, and against discrimination claims.

He has represented employers in labor arbitrations, served as a lead negotiator in collective bargaining negotiations, and provided training in anti-discrimination laws for management staff.

He has also successfully represented individual employees in wrongful termination, failure to promote, and wage claims.

Thomas served as a Trustee and former President of the Alaska Bar Foundation. He is a member of the Employment and Real Estate Sections of the Alaska Bar Association and is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management.

He has served as a fee arbitrator for the Bar Association and sits on the Bar’s Ethics Committee. He served as a member of the Anchorage Planning and Zoning Commission from 2005 to 2009.

He has been a frequent presenter on employment and education law issues, including presentations on Collective Bargaining, First Amendment, Public Records Act, and Open Meetings Act issues.

In law school, Thomas served as the Authorities Editor for the Vanderbilt Journal of Transnational Law. Thomas clerked for Beverly Cutler of the Palmer Superior Court.
