Timothy M. Coughlin focuses his practice on patent prosecution and counseling in the areas of electronics and software. Tim worked with the firm in 2015 and 2016 as a summer associate where he amended claims and drafted responses to USPTO patent application office actions.
Tim is an engineer with over four years of professional experience in a technical role. Prior to launching his legal career, Tim was a Hardware Engineer at Check Point Software Technologies, Ltd. in Waltham, Massachusetts where he developed high-speed, high-bandwidth, secure devices, and was the lead design engineer of a high-speed network interface card. He was an Associate Engineer at Curtis-Straus, LLC in Littleton, Massachusetts where he tested a variety of electronic devices in compliance with numerous consumer based product standards.
While attending law school, Tim was Staff Editor and Associate Editor of the Arts and Entertainment Law Journal.
