Travis J. Morrissey, attorney at law, was born and raised in Hot Springs, Arkansas.  After graduating from Lakeside High school, University of Arkansas at Fayetteville (B.S. Environmental Science, 1995) and Bowen School of Law at University of Arkansas at Little Rock (J.D. 1998), Travis was admitted to the Arkansas bar and to practice before U.S. Court of Appeals, Eighth Circuit: U.S. District Court, Eastern and Western Districts of Arkansas in 1999.

He has additionally practiced in Federal Court in the Eastern District of Texas, Southern District of Iowa, and Western District of Tennessee.  He is currently a member in good standing of the Garland County Bar Association.

Morrissey began his legal career at Mitchell Williams law firm in Little Rock.  There his corporate practice focused on real estate transactions, securities and banking transactions with an aggregate valuation of over $1,000,000,000.00.

He moved to Hot Springs in 2001 where he joined the firm of Hurst, Morrissey and Hurst while continuing to serve as in house counsel for Impact Financial Services.

Mr. Morrissey recently founded his own firm, The Morrissey Law Firm.  Travis has published numerous articles. His published articles include co-authoring: “Clean Air Act Enforcement: The Developing Role of Monitoring Requirements.” MP19A.04, 1998: “The Future of Clean Air Act Any Credible Evidence Rule: Potential impact on Aerospace Facilities” Metal Finishing, May 1999: “Arkansas Facility/Real Property Redevelopment in the Year 2000.

Tools Available to Resolve Environmental Issues” 52 Arkansas Law Review 751, 1000.  Morrissey was formerly Adjunct Faculty to Embry Riddle Aeronautical University.  Morrissey was additionally a contributing author to the American Bar Association’s Water Resource Committee Newsletter.

Morrissey was also selected to serve as the authority in the area of asset protection speaking to individuals from around the country. Travis is married to Harmony Hurst-Morrissey and they have three children.

Travis and his family are active in the community and are active members of many civil and philanthropic organizations. He is a member of First United Methodist Church where he serves on the Board of Trustees, Staff-Parish Relations Committee and the Board of Stewards.

He is also a delegate to the Annual Conference of the Arkansas Conference of the United Methodist Church.  He is President of the Board of Directors of First Step, Vice President of the Board of Directors of Abilities Unlimited and has served on the Boards of the United Way of Garland County, Hot Springs Golf and Country Club (past-president), Ouachita Childrens Center, Boy Scouts of America, as well as the Board of Governors of the Arkansas Trial Lawyer Association.

Morrissey’s passion for and advocacy of his clients prompted him to establish his own practice. Since 1999, Travis has helped thousands of people resolve their legal issues quickly and effectively.
