Attorney Uswah A. Khan practices family law and has over thirteen years of experience. She is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association, family law section and member of the Executive Committee of the Family Law Section, where she co-chairs the Diversity and Inclusion committee.
Attorney Khan also serves as co-chair for the Fairfield County Bar Association Women’s Section. She was recently designated as a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers, and in the past for the Connecticut Bar Association, family law section, 2011-2012. Attorney Khan is a Commissioner for the CT Asian Pacific American Commission, and serves on the Human Services Committee and the Civil Rights Committee.
Attorney Khan has served on the Governor’s State Advisory Council on Special Education since 2008, and is a member of the legislative, anti-bullying, nominating, and climate committees. She is a state certified guardian ad litem and attorney for minor children. She also serves as a Special Master for Stamford, Bridgeport, and Milford Superior Court and volunteers as a Judge/grader for the Frederick Douglass Moot Court Competition.
She is a co-founder of the Young Bright Scholars Foundation, providing mentorship and leadership training to school aged children. Since 2007, Attorney Khan has been a member of the Advisory Panel for the American Bar Association. She is also a member of the SAWAN (South Asian Women’s Network) mentoring group. From 2007-2009, Attorney Khan served on the Board of Directors for Side by Side Community Charter School.
Attorney Khan graduated from Pace University School of Law, where she was a recipient of the C.H. Revson Law Student Public Interest Network Fellowship, and volunteer student attorney for the Equal Justice America Disability Law Clinic, and received her Bachelor of Arts in English/writing from Columbia University, Barnard College. Attorney Khan is a lifelong resident of Norwalk, Connecticut, where she enjoys spending time with her husband, Dr. Ayub Khan and her children.
