She completed her Bachelor’s of Arts with honors in History and Literature from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst in 2007. She went on to attend the Suffolk University Law School in Boston, Massachusetts and served as a judicial extern for U.S. District Court Judge Otis D. Wright II in Los Angeles while in law school.
She was also the President of the Suffolk University Law School ACLU. She earned her Juris Doctorate in 2010 and obtained the license to practice law in California, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island in the following years. She is also a member of the Northern and Central District Courts of California.
