Victoria Oguntoye focuses her practice on defending business entities both at the trial and appellate levels in commercial disputes and complex litigation (class actions). She is rapidly developing a concentration in banking, finance, consumer law and real estate, among others. Victoria is also a member of the firm’s E-Discovery team.
With experience in both litigation and appellate practices at state and federal levels, Victoria is able to offer clients a strategic approach to achieving a successful resolution – whether through trial, appeals or a negotiated settlement.
She received her law degree from the University Of Florida Levin College of Law, where she was as an executive board member of the University’s Moot Court Team, Black Law Students Association and Entertainment, Arts and Sports Law Society. During law school, Victoria served as a Teaching Assistant for legal writing, legal research and appellate advocacy.
Victoria worked as a summer associate in the firm’s Tampa office after her first and second years in law school. Prior to her summer associate position, Victoria worked as a bankruptcy counselor providing comprehensive financial assessment for clients and educating them on using available resources to meet their priority expenses and support their financial goals.
Victoria’s sophisticated oral advocacy skills have garnered her awards in trial practice and mediation. She has also presented on several topics including Discovery Cost-Shifting, focusing on federal and Florida treatment of electronically stored information, and Ethical Considerations in Social Media.
As a zealous supporter of pro bono legal services, Victoria has spent numerous hours providing free legal and appellate services to the underprivileged through her participation in local and statewide legal aid organizations. She worked with the Florida Capital Resource Center, where she assisted attorneys defending capital cases and has worked on pro bono appellate cases. For her service, Victoria was awarded the pro bono service award from the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit.
