
Mr. Vincent Smolczynski is an associate in the Intellectual Property Practice Group in the Chicago office of Seyfarth Shaw LLP. He practices in the areas of complex civil litigation, patent litigation, and a variety of intellectual property matters. He also handles patent and trademark prosecution.
His experience spans a wide range of technical areas, including pharmaceutical, chemical, biomedical devices, electronic devices, and business methods. Mr. Smolczynski is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
Before joining Seyfarth Shaw, Mr. Smolczynski was a law clerk in the Intellectual Property Practice Group, assisting in various aspects of patent, trademark, and copyright matters. Mr. Smolczynski also served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Warren D. Wolfson in the Illinois Appellate Court, First District.
While in law school, Mr. Smolczynski was Notes and Comments Editor for the Chicago-Kent Law Review. He also published his article on the effects of intellectual property laws on traditional knowledge in the Chicago-Kent Law Review.
In addition, he was an active member of the Chicago-Kent Moot Court Honor Society, receiving the Best Brief Award at the 2010 Moot Court National Championships. Mr. Smolczynski graduated from the University of Delaware with a degree in Biological Sciences.
