As an associate on Alston & Bird’s Corporate Transactions & Securities team, Walt Cosby III’s practice focuses on counseling public and private companies on a broad range of corporate and transactional matters, including mergers, acquisitions, and leveraged buyouts.
Walt assists the firm’s private equity clients in developing strategies for structuring and implementing acquisitions and investments that are both innovative and practical.
On various transactions, Walt integrates lawyers who concentrate in private equity finance, tax, executive compensation, ERISA, labor, intellectual property, real estate, and environmental law to provide our clients with comprehensive advice to address the multitude of issues that arise in today’s corporate transactions.
Before joining the firm, Walt supported the legal departments of a leading home improvement retailer and a community bank, and also served as an intern at The White House. Walt obtained a J.D. from Emory University and a B.A. in political science from Georgetown College.
