Wesley James Schroeder is a Criminal Defense and Juvenile Law Lawyer in practice for more than 40 years. The National Trial Lawyers Association named him in the Top 100 Trial Lawyers in 2015. He is in private practice since 1981. His practice areas include Domestic Violence, Expungement, Sex Crimes, and Dependency.
He has extensive experience of handling over 200 jury trials, including more than 30 domestic violence-related trials, 25 sex offense trials, and 15 homicide and murder trials. He has handled over 12,000 matters in criminal, juvenile and dependency court. The Presiding Judge selected him to help a defendant, allowed to represent himself in a complicated murder case.
Wesley J. Schroeder has appeared on television talk shows, television news reports, and radio shows for the legal issues that he handled in his practice. He has also spoken about the legal issues associated with juveniles at many community groups.
He serves on the Board of Directors of the Santa Clara County Sentencing Alternative Program since 1990. He has served as an Instructor in Criminal Law for Paralegal Program at the Santa Clara University.
He is a member of the California Attorneys for Criminal Justice, California Public Defenders Association, and the Judiciary and Criminal Justice Committees of the Santa Clara County Bar Association. He has served as a Stanford Law School Moot Court Judge and also as a Judge Pro Tem for Santa Clara County Court Small Claims and Traffic.
Before starting a private practice, he served as a Class IV Attorney for the Santa Clara County Superior Court. He handled court appointments for complex criminal cases. He has also served as a Senior Trial Attorney at the Santa Clara County Public Defender’s Office. He served as a Supervising Attorney for Juvenile Court, including Dependency Court, and also for Palo Alto Branch.
Wesley Schroeder has done B.A. with honors in English major from the Whitman College and obtained a law degree from the University of California.
