Wesley T. Straw

Wesley Straw has been trying civil cases for over ten years. He has been trial counsel in numerous catastrophic bodily injury cases resulting in jury verdicts exceeding $30,000,000 since commencing practice as a personal injury attorney in St. Petersburg and the Tampa Bay area.

Wesley is a member of the Florida Bar and the United States District Court. Wesley Straw was raised in Pinellas County, Florida.He resides in Clearwater, Florida with his wife and three children.

Wes obtained his Bachelor of Science from the University of Tampa. He obtained his Juris Doctorate from Florida Coastal School of Law after attending both Florida Coastal School of Law and Stetson Law School.

While in law school, Wes served on the law review, mock trial team and served as a Certified Legal Intern for the Duval County State Attorney’s Office. He was certified by the Supreme Court of Florida to handle civil cases for the Duval County State Attorney’s Office, and obtained favorable verdicts for the office in all cases that he tried to verdict.

In 2002, Wes joined Justin C. Johnson and Associates, P.A. as a law clerk, then became an associate attorney representing clients in civil litigation matters including catastrophic injuries, wrongful death, child abuse, child injuries resulting from defective products, assault, and automobile negligence cases.

In 2010, Wes Straw and Matt Emerson established Emerson Straw PL, focusing on individuals and their families who have been wrongfully injured or killed as the result of negligence by corporations, nursing homes, medical facilities, physicians, or other careless individuals.
