Upon the completion of his law school degree, he started studying for a Masters in Taxation Degree (LL.M.) at the University of Denver. At this time he provided representation to taxpayers at the University of Denver’s Low Income Tax Clinic. He also participated in the American Bar Association’s Student Tax Challenge Writing Competition, and served as a tax consultant helping bank loan underwriters on tax matters related with lending.

Upon being successful with the Colorado Bar, Weston started to work for the I.R.S. Office of Chief Counsel Small Business Self Employed Division in Denver. At this job, he was in charge of enforcing the rights of the government under the Internal Revenue Code in matters of tax controversy brought before the United States Tax Court.

At this period, he also served under Professor Issac Lodico to write a tax article on Federal tax liens and levies. During his leisure time, Weston teaches law school students who failed in the Colorado Bar Exam. He also conducts researches and writes articles on tax law matters. He is in the process of acquiring his Certified Public Accountant (C.P.A.) license. He also judges submissions of students for the American Bar Association’s Student Tax Challenge Writing Competition.
