
William White was born January 9, 1973 in Marietta, Georgia. In June, 1996, Mr. White graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Criminal Justice. From there, Mr. White attended the Mercer University, Walter F. George, School of Law, where he graduated cum laude in 1999.
While at Mercer, Mr. White was a member of the Law Review; a recipient of the CALI Award for Academic Excellence; a recipient of the Faculty Award for Legal Writing; a recipient of the Thomas Ryals Scholarship; a recipient of the Mercer Faculty Scholarship; and earned a Legal Writing Certificate.
Prior to becoming a manager with Smith, Welch, Webb & White, LLC as one of its managers and founding members, Will worked for the firm of Smith, Welch & Brittain, LLP, from 1999 until May 2011, and he became the youngest partner in the history of the firm in 2004.
Mr. White specializes in condemnation litigation for both condemnors and property owners, and has tried over sixty condemnation jury trials throughout the State, including every eminent domain action tried to a jury in Henry County except one since 2001.
Mr. White has argued condemnation cases before both the Court of Appeals and Georgia Supreme Court and has more than fifteen reported cases to his credit. He has published articles for the continuing education arm of the State Bar of Georgia and has spoken at numerous State and Local Bar seminars on eminent domain.
Mr. White also handles matters including litigation for the Henry County Board of Education, the Henry County Water and Sewerage Authority, the Butts County, et al., Water and Sewer Authority, the Butts County Board of Education, the Lamar County Water and Sewer Authority, Georgia Transmission Corporation, Georgia Power, CVS and others.
Mr. White is married to his high school sweetheart Linda Fritter White, an information technology specialist for IBM. The couple have two daughters, Anna Alysa and Samantha Nicole White, and one son, William A. White, Jr. Mr. White’s outside interests include golf, baseball, basketball, and spending time with family.
