William Hackett was born in Memphis, Tennessee and grew up just south of Memphis in Nesbit, Mississippi. He graduated from North Carolina State University with a B.A. in Political Science.
William attended law school at the University of Memphis, Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law where he was a member of the Moot Court Board and was an avid participant in the Moot Court and Mock Trial competitions.
During his second year, Mr. Hackett won Best 2L Oral Advocate Award in the intra-school Mock Trial competition. The very next year William retained his title by winning the overall Best Oral Advocate Award.
Mr. Hackett’s family has deep roots in the Memphis community. His father is Dick Hackett, the former Mayor of Memphis, and his Uncle, William B. Hackett, is a retired Shelby County Judge. The Hackett family’s dedication to the people of Memphis and the Mid-South continues with William. He is dedicated to pursuing justice for those who need it most.
