William Kent Upshaw experts in Bankruptcy and Debt collection. W Kent Upshaw works at Comer Upshaw LLC. William Upshaw is graduate of W.A. Berry High School (1971) and University of Alabama in Birmingham (1974) with major in Psychology.
William Upshaw Attended Cumberland Law School at Samford University, Birmingham, Alabama graduating in 1978 Cum Laude. Served as Research Editor of Cumberland Law School Publication “The American Journal of Trial Advocacy”.
Following graduation from law school worked as Assistant District Attorney for Madison County, Alabama. Responsible for one half of all District Court criminal prosecutions and one third of Circuit Court prosecutions. (1979-1981).
Returned to Birmingham, Alabama in 1981 and took position with the law firm of Holt & Cooper. Joined the firm as a partner in 1984. Majority of firm’s matters are handled in the District Courts.
William Upshaw served as the firm’s “utility player” handling prosecution and defense of contested matters before the State and Federal (Bankruptcy) Courts. Formed Comer & Upshaw. LLP in February 2003.
