Yinfei Wu has significant experience in both United States and China trademark and copyright law. She advises clients and works closely with counsel around the world on trademark usage, clearance, prosecution, domestic and worldwide portfolio management, litigation, and enforcement matters.
Yinfei also handles cancellation and opposition proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB) of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). She focuses on enforcing client rights against counterfeiters and manages civil and criminal anti-counterfeiting actions in China, crafting efficient solutions for each client.
She offers trademark and anti-counterfeiting consultation to various Fortune 500 companies, conducting searches on the Chinese trademark databases, managing Chinese trademark prosecution and enforcement matters for many publicly traded companies.
Specifically, she assisted in prosecuting counterfeited product manufacturing and false designation of source of goods claims through clerkship with the City Attorney’s Office of Nanjing, China. Notably, she also assisted in two Minnesota federal district court cases involving import and export of high-tech remote control and tire products, and obtained satisfactory settlement results in both cases for clients.
Yinfei offers experienced legal analysis and has worked on solutions for infringement risk-management matters. Her legal education and cultural background further allow for effective communication between clients and opposing parties during licensing negotiations, settlement conversations, and litigation proceedings.
Yinfei also devotes time to pro bono matters, including working with the Advocates for Human Rights and for the Mille Lacs Homeless Connect. During law school, Yinfei was a law clerk at the public defender’s office for the Tenth Judicial District of Minnesota. She was also a law clerk to the City Attorney’s Office of Nanjing, Jiangsu Province of China, prior to her practice in the United States.
