Mr. Zachary Fischer is an Associate with The Federal Practice Group and is part of the federal employment group. Mr. Fischer is experienced in drafting complaints, drafting and responding to discovery requests, preparing clients for depositions and preparing demand letters particularly in the areas of sex discrimination, hostile work environment/harassment, and retaliation claims.

Prior to joining The Federal Practice Group, Mr. Fischer worked as a law clerk at several Washington, D.C. law firms where he focused on Fair Labor Standards Act, the D.C. Human Rights Act, and LGBT issues. In these roles he drafted demand letters, motions and memoranda, and ensured clients were prepared for depositions.

Mr. Fischer also served as a law clerk for two federal agencies. His last internship was at the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) where he worked in the Office of General Counsel and identified potential religious freedom claims stemming from discriminatory treatment of LGBT individuals.

He also researched, edited, and supplemented scholarly articles written by the general counsel on recent trends in employment and labor Law. Previously he interned at the U.S. Department of the Interior, Office of the Secretary and specifically worked in the Office of Civil Rights. Here he adjudicated employment discrimination complaints raised by the Department of Interior employees and applicants.

He drafted procedural dismissals and Final Agency Decisions. Mr. Fischer received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Florida and was named a Franklin Merit Scholar. He earned his juris doctorate at American University Washington College of Law.

He was a Merit Scholarship recipient and served as the managing editor for both Arbitration Brief and Labor & Employment Forum. Mr. Fischer passed the D.C. bar exam in February of 2018 and is awaiting admission. Mr. Fischer is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia.
