Zachary R. Kurland is an associate in the Corporate Department and a member of The Private Credit Group. His primary focus is in finance transactions, particularly those involving private sources of capital (such as BDCs, hedge, mezzanine and SBIC funds, bank subsidiaries and other specialty opportunity funds) in asset-based and cash-flow facilities that range in size from $5 million to upwards of $500 million.
Zack advises a variety of alternative, non-bank lenders on acquisitions, refinancings, restructurings and other capital investments that touch upon many industries (including airline and shipping companies, health care, professional services, retail, sports franchises and technology companies) and which are structured as senior secured, second lien, secured and unsecured mezzanine, holdco or other private credit facilities.
Prior to joining Proskauer, Zack was a lawyer at Cahill Gordon & Reindel LLP in New York, where he worked with clients on securities litigation and regulatory investigations. He previously served as external counsel for a number of Boston-based start-ups, providing advice on formation, financings and day-to-day corporate governance.
During law school, Zack worked with the legal departments at State Street Corporation and The Kraft Group LLC/New England Patriots LP on a variety of general corporate matters.
