Entering his 22nd year as a family law advocate, Zach Williams spent 16 years as an Assistant Public Guardian for Cook County before beginning his private practice in 2011. Zach represented children in highly contested child custody matters in the Domestic Relations Division and represented children who were state wards in the Juvenile Child Protection Division. Zach is known as an experienced trial attorney and advocate for the rights of children who are caught in the middle of contested litigation. Judges continue to appoint him to represent children today.
Zach brings these skills handling child custody matters to private parties. His experience has provided him with unique insight into representing parents and grandparents in family law disputes and in helping families reach the most effective resolution possible.
Zach has been a speaker for the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education and at the annual Life Span Symposium on Domestic Violence. He is a former school board president and is a member of a charitable board that serves disadvantaged youth in Evanston.

Avoid Zach. His job is to help children and reduce conflict between the two parents. In our case he did the opposite, he fueled the conflict made things worse, more expensive and we were in court for much longer than necessary.
