Kayla D. Carrick is an associate in the Houston office of King & Spalding and a member of the firm’s Contracts and Business Torts practice. Her practice focuses on energy and complex commercial disputes, including class action and multi-district litigation.
Prior to joining the firm, Kayla served as a judicial clerk for Justice Jeff Brown of the Supreme Court of Texas. She graduated from the University of Texas School of Law, where she was Chief Notes Editor of The Review of Litigation and a Teaching Quizmaster for the Legal Research and Writing Program.
While earning her journalism degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Kayla worked briefly as a reporter covering business news. Her news articles have been published in The L.A. Times and The Boston Globe.
Most recently, she was selected by The Leadership Academy Committee for the Houston Young Lawyers Association as a member of the 2016-17 Leadership Academy class.
