Cameron MacRae practices in the areas of corporate, financial (insurance and banking), and energy law, with more than 40 years of experience in both private and government practice. Mr. MacRae has represented numerous major corporations and financial institutions in the insurance, banking, investment banking, energy, manufacturing and real estate sectors, as well as in the nonprofit areas.
His range of practice includes general corporate and transactional law, securities offerings, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), securities law, banking law, exempt organizations and real estate transactional law. He also frequently advises boards of directors of public and private companies and large nonprofit institutions, often with a focus on matters related to corporate governance.
Mr. MacRae was for many years a senior partner of LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene & MacRae LLP (a predecessor firm of Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP). Through the decade of the 1990s, Mr. MacRae was Chairman of LeBoeuf, Lamb’s large Corporate and Finance Department, and for the latter part of that period also served as the Vice Chairman of that firm.
Mr. MacRae also previously served as General Counsel and Deputy Superintendent of the New York State Banking Department from 1972 to 1974 (during the later years of the Rockefeller Administration). He also served as Attorney-Advisor, Office of the General Counsel to the Secretary of the U.S. Air Force, from 1966 to1969 (while on active duty as an Air Force Captain).
Mr. MacRae graduated from Princeton University and thereafter from Yale Law School, where he served as Note and Comment Editor of the Yale Law Journal. Mr. MacRae is a member of the bars of New York and Washington, D.C.
