Attorney Katz is vice-chairperson on the Board of Directors of the Project on Government Oversight, POGO. It is a nonpartisan, independent government watchdog. Its mission is to strengthen laws and regulations to protect whistleblowers from intimidation and retaliation. It aims to build a more accountable and effective federal government by investigating government corruption and misconduct allegations.
Debra Katz serves as a contributing writer for Ms. Magazine, where she writes about legal issues important to women. She is a co-chairperson of ALI-CLE’s Advanced Employment Law program. She is also a board member of Law360’s Editorial Advisory Board.
She obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree, summa cum laude, from Union College. She was a member of Phi Beta Kappa at the Union College. She earned J.D. degree, cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin Law School. She also worked as Articles Editor of the Wisconsin Women’s Law Journal.
Debra clerked for the Hon. William Bablitch on the Wisconsin Supreme Court. She completed Fellowship in Women’s Law and Public Policy from Georgetown University Law Center.
Debra gained membership of the District of Columbia and New York Bar Associations, the Bar of the Supreme Court of the United States and the bars of several federal courts of appeals.
