
Gassan Baloul is the leader of Directed Emerging Market Initiatives and concentrates his practice on a range of complex cross-border commercial litigation, regulatory proceedings and crisis management, advising foreign governments, multinational corporations and financial institutions. His clients’ interests span a variety of industries, including banking, finance, telecommunications and insurance.
Gassan has significant trial and appellate experience, participating in the defense of federal lawsuits involving mass tort claims, banking issues and international law, as well as issues involving the Anti-Terrorism Act and the Alien Tort Statute.
He also has particular expertise representing clients in matters before the Department of Justice, Department of the Treasury, Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, Office of Foreign Assets Control and the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network.
