Ian Calhoun is a member of Alston & Bird’s Financial Services & Products Group and the Payment Systems Team. Ian advises payments industry and banking industry clients on a range of transactional, regulatory, and corporate governance matters, including mergers and acquisitions, portfolio purchases, and negotiation of card-issuing and merchant-acquiring relationships.
He also has experience assisting clients with public securities offerings, private placements, ”blue sky” regulatory compliance, and SEC compliance, including 1933 Act filings and 1934 Act reporting.
Ian earned his J.D., cum laude, in 2013 from the University of Georgia School of Law, where he served as a symposium editor for the Georgia Law Review. Before law school, Ian earned an M.S. in international affairs from the Georgia Institute of Technology and worked as general manager of a real estate development firm in Tamarindo, Costa Rica.
